My Yashica A, a review.

I've been wanting a Yashica TLR for a long time and I recently found a sweet deal. The A is the most basic of the Yashica TLRs but also the cheapest. I got my hands on mine for $70 and everything seems to work fine.

It is really basic, it has no light meter and a cold shoe (That's an anchor for a flash but isn't powered, you need a cable.) The viewfinder is pretty dim compared to my Voigtlander but it has a nice grid for composition. The camera is flawless and operates smoothly. I love the focusing mechanism where the entire front of the camera moves instead of flimsy gears that connect the taking and viewing lens. The worry with those is that they might come out of sync. No such problem with the Yashica as both move in unison.

I tossed in a roll of Kodak Tmax 100 120 film and came up with these. Not great photography but good examples of what it can do. Stay tuned for more in the near future.
